In the National Interest: Art,the Sun King and the Academic Revolution

A Lecture by artist Richard Whincop, in his lecture Richard will talk about the Royal Académie de Peinture et de Sculpture which was founded in 1648 under Louis XIV of France, “The Sun King” and placed the visual arts under direct royal control. The lecture looks at the origins of the Académie and it’s evolution in the centuries which followed.
